Each of these areas is demonstrative of humankind's eternal font of creative expression and participation in the transcendent mystery. What is Myth? The word "mythos" comes from the Greek meaning to be spoken with the mouth and is humankind's first method of communicating our cosmological vision and understanding of the why and how questions regarding birth, life, death and the rhythms and cataclysms within nature. Symbolically composed and orally shared, myth is our way of speaking to one another about our quests to know God and our longing for communion with the Divine.
