Robotics Alliance ProgramLink: http://robotics.nasa.gov/home/home.php Calling all student inventors and aspiring mechanical engineers: The scientists at NASA are looking for a few good minds to participate in the Robotics Alliance Project, a nationwide competition that awards students for designing and building robots. With a fresh look and feel, this longtime NASA web site provides information for teachers and students seeking sponsorships and entry into the 2005-06 FIRST Robotics Competition, an international sporting event that pits student-made robots against one another in a race for mechanical superiority. Interested in robots as a teaching tool, but not sure you want to enter the competition? The web site also features a variety of resources for helping students learn more about the science of robotics, including profiles of leading robotics engineers, links to NASA resources about the use of robotics in space, and a look at past winners of robotics challenges.
