Lewis and Clark Rediscovery ProjectLink: http://rediscovery.ed.uidaho.edu The Lewis & Clark Rediscovery Project is a technology professional development proposal designed to help teachers restructure teaching and learning practices in the classroom and to foster technology use in the schools. Highlighting the Lewis and Clark exploration 200 years ago, the project will focus on a select group of K-12 districts distributed over 9 states along the Lewis-Clark trail. All stories, data reports, images, artwork and maps compiled and presented by teachers and their students will provide glimpses of life along the historic and present day Lewis & Clark Trail. The program includes online courses (to develop participant perspectives as a Naturalist, Historian, Geographer) and in technology skills development. Workshops include 2-week summer intensive training/explorations for teachers, and in-service workshops during the school year. Expected outcomes will be a series of locally developed curriculum projects, CDROMs, and collaborative websites.
